Union Hospital earns awards for healthcare marketing excellence
May 26, 2011

Union Hospital has been honored with three 2011 Aster Awards in Marketing Healthcare Today magazine’s annual competition. The hospital’s entries were judged against those from other hospitals across the country with 300 to 499 beds.

The awards were:

  • a Gold award for Union Live, an interactive employee newsletter;
  • a Silver award for a HealthCheck radio spot; and
  • a Bronze award for a Maternity Services billboard design.

Union Live, launched in June 2010, is a twice-monthly online publication produced by the hospital’s marketing and public relations department. It contains a mix of corporate news, events, department and employee achievements, people features and classified ads. Most articles give employees the opportunity to interact with the newsletter through an author’s email address, a comment blog, a video or a link to a longer article.

The billboard and radio spot were developed by MillerWhite Marketing, which provides marketing/research, public relations, advertising, interactive media, audio/video, print creative, social media and mobile services to its clients from offices in Terre Haute and Indianapolis.

Union Hospital is the largest provider of health services between Indianapolis and St. Louis and the area’s largest not-for-profit medical center, providing quality care to all, regardless of the ability to pay.

The Aster Awards, which recognize excellence in healthcare marketing and advertising, are hosted by Creative Images, Inc., an internationally recognized firm that has specialized in strategic healthcare marketing for more than 17 years. Healthcare organizations and advertising agencies compete against similarly sized companies from across the nation and world. This year’s competition received more than 3,000 entries from the U.S., Canada and South America.
